»Application of semiconductor-based membrane lasers in UV measurement technology«

Semiconductor-based membrane lasers are a new type of further development of semiconductor disk lasers that offer significant advantages in terms of thermal management and module integration. Based on these membrane lasers, semiconductor lasers can be realized at central wavelengths in the visible spectral range, which can be converted very efficiently into the UV range by simple intra-cavity frequency doubling. The use of established semiconductor processes and components and the further development of assembly and connection technology make it possible to realize cost-efficient and compact UV lasers that can cover a wide range of applications in UV measurement technology. Particularly in the field of identification and subsequent separation of various material groups, such as synthetic polymers, these lasers offer the possibility of replacing previous high-maintenance sources and increasing sorting accuracy.
