The Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) is the practice-orientated, technical-scientific research institution of the Federal Government in the field of roads. It is dedicated to the diverse tasks resulting from the relationships between roads, people and the environment. The High Performance Centre works together with the BASt in the field of sustainable and resilient transport concepts of the future.

The Hahn-Schickard Institutes are part of the Baden-Württemberg Innovation Alliance and carry out application-orientated research and development for industry. Around 180 employees in Stuttgart, Villingen-Schwenningen and Freiburg develop solutions in microsystems technology for the fields of sensor and actuator technology, system integration, cyber-physical systems, lab-on-a-chip and analytics, microelectronics, assembly and connection technology, micro-assembly and reliability. Hahn-Schickard is a project partner in the two pilot projects Resilience Measures and SusLight.
