SICK, headquartered in Waldkirch near Freiburg, is one of the world’s leading solution providers for sensorbased

This lecture addresses the following questions:
• What are the current and future challenges of sustainability?
• How does the sustainability strategy at SICK look like ?
• What do different stakeholders demand from SICK?
• Is sustainability measurable and if so, how?
Kerstin Kohler has been responsible for establishing and further developing the global
environmental and sustainability management at SICK AG since 2005. She studied
Environmental Science at the University of Applied Sciences in Bingen, Germany, and at the
Van Hall Institute in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, and has over 20 years of experience in
environmental management and sustainability.
