Save the date - 2nd Annual GRRN International Summit, April 10/11, 2019

Baking Resilience In: Energizing Global Research for Novel Solutions, Applications, Technologies: The Sustainability Center Freiburg will host the second summit of the Global Resilience Research Network (GRRN) in Freiburg, Germany.

This event will build upon the successful launch of the GRRN at Northeastern University in Boston in March 2018. It will bring together many of the world’s top academic, applied research, public policy and industry experts to exchange the latest ideas and solutions for informing and advancing resilience on multiple scales.

About the 2018 GRRN Summit
The Inaugural GRRN Summit in Boston, USA, brought together leading resilience experts from 20 major universities and research institutions from 14 countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America. Powerful stories were shared by distinguished practitioners who have recently been on the front lines of managing some of the 21st century’s most catastrophic disasters.  They reinforced the urgent need for developing new resilience-building tools, applications, and skills. Researchers and thought leaders work together, sharing expertise, forging collaborative relationships, and identifying applied research projects that will help build greater individual, community, system and societal resilience. We look forward to the 2019 Summit that will be hosted by Fraunhofer EMI on April 10-11 in Freiburg, Germany.

The GRRN Mission
Novel approaches for responding to the growing array of shocks and protracted disruptions are urgently needed. Devising them requires close collaboration amongst researchers, policymakers and practitioners worldwide. The Global Resilience Research Network provides a forum for collaboration on resilience-building efforts, and supports the sharing of resilience tools, applications, skills, and best practices to facilitate their rapid and widespread adoption worldwide.
