Ways to a future without waste: a materials scientist view. Lecture with Anke Weidenkaff on 2019/01/08

As part of the interdisciplinary Sustainability Talks, Prof. Dr. Anke Weidenkaff, Fraunhofer Project Group Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies and TU Darmstadt, will give a lecture in Freiburg.

The prerequisite for waste elimination is to close materials cycles in a more reasonable time frame, with lower energy cost. The recycling can be realised by the development of durable active material, constantly regenerating their structure under electrical current, thermochemical and heating cooling cycles. Perovskitetype ceramics as well as their nanocomposites can be tuned to enable for multifunctional energy converters to reduce the use of critical materials.

Time: Thursday, January 8, 2019, 5.30 p.m.

Venue: Department of Engineering, Building 101, Room 01 009 / 013 (2nd floor), Georges-Köhler-Allee 101, 79110 Freiburg
