»Strategies for improving the market opportunities of engineering research projects«
Funding period: November 2024 until November 2025
Type of project: LZN project
Project partners:

A frequent problem in the scientific context is that research fails to meet the needs of industry and business. At the same time, researchers have to adapt to changing conditions with regard to the possibilities of public project tenders and the economic viability of their research in the form of industry contracts, licence income or spin-offs, which have a significant influence on the quality of their research.
The aim of the research project ‘FoTraBox’ of the Sustainability Centre Freiburg is to close this gap between research and industry by developing a methodological toolbox to orientate research towards the market at an early stage. This ‘research transfer box’ should contain tried and tested methods that enable researchers to independently identify market requirements with regard to their research and to align these more precisely.
The ‘FoTraBox’ project is funded as part of the Innovation Sprint funding line of the DATIpilot Module 1 of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is being carried out by the Sustainability Centre in collaboration with Grünhof 3000 GmbH (machn).
