Event Series: Agenda 2030 – Shaping Sustainable Development in Communes

The Sustainability Center, in connection with the Colloquium Politicum of the University of Freiburg and the Office of Sustainability of the City of Freiburg, would like to welcome you to a discussion about local, national, and international perspectives.

More than twenty years after the Rio Earth Summit in 1992, the key role in the implementation of the mission statements pertaining to sustainable development lies in the hands of the communes today more than ever before. The City of Freiburg has provided a plan of contribution to the United Nations' Agenda 2030, oriented to around 60 sustainability goals. The goal to become an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable commune based upon a generationally equitable fiscal policy calls upon the successful cooperation of all parties involved.

This event series brings politics, science, economics and society into the discussion of sustainable development as a responsibility for all of society.
